Hike Lions Head whilst in Cape Town! I myself really enjoy the nature. Travelling in a country is never complete for me without having walked through its flora and fauna.
A personal highlight during my stay in South Africa so far was the hike up Lions Head in Cape Town. Lions Head is one of the laconic landmarks of Cape Town and can be seen already from far away.
Starting in the morning, before sunrise, we started the 50 minutes hike up the hill. It is a pleasant walk, not too steep, but it shouldn’t be under estimated, especially not when it`s wet.
Going higher and higher you get to see Cape Town from a bird`s view. You can enjoy the view over Cape Town, its surrounding mountains, Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, Sea Point and Green Point and Robben Island.
It is a very special moment when you arrive at the top of the hill and see the sun rise above the mountains. The morning sun makes Table Mountain appear in a lovely, unique light.
Sitting there and letting the view sink in was an amazing experience for me and my friends.
If you also want to hike up Lions Head, or maybe Table Mountain or Devil`s Peak, you can do it on one of our overland or self-drive tours that include a stay in Cape Town, South Africa. We also offer accommodations and day tours in Cape Town.
